This upright freezer was built to last. First of all it has glass shelves that can be re-arranged to suit my needs. The interior is not made of cheap plastic that becomes brittle when frozen. The wire basket at the bottom is extremely functional for bags of shrimp and vegetables.

In general we are happy with the freezer but would recommend the following improvements...To maximize storage capacity and for better weight distribution on the shelves, we would recommend the freezer include one additional storage shelf. We ordered an additional shelf which has allowed us to store a half beef in a way that minimizies the amount of weight on each shelf and prevents stacked packages from sliding off when the door is opened.The adjustable leveling feet on the front of the unit need to be longer. Our freezer still rocked even after the feet were adjusted down all the way, necessitating the use of wood shims under the feet.

We recently bought the Frigidaire - 20 Cu. Ft. Garage Ready Upright Freezer in white for our new house we are building ourselves because we are going from a commercial size fridge and commercial size freezer to just a fridge with a freezer on bottom and we know that we won™™t have enough room for the meats and vegetables we buy in bulk when going to to grocery store in town once a month, because we live in the country with no stores for at least a 20 mile radius and it takes us 30 minutes to go to our local Walmart store. Just now starting the process of actually moving in to the new house so we haven™™t actually had the opportunity to use the freezer on a daily basis yet but we will soon and then we will know for sure if the freezer will be exactly what we™™re needing for our family. Time will tell.

Mist appliances these days are designed to be repaired other than a compressor, computer or other major component. Even then, the cost to repair is so high, people just choose to buy another appliance. So the ™appliance repairman™ is almost an extinct job now. I still gave one who is retiring soon. He only works on certain brands because the other common ones saturating the big chain stores are not worth trying to fix, can™™t get parts etc according to him. He recommended a Frigedair when we needed to replace a 30 year old Whirlpool upright freezer. This unit is a little smaller than our old one and no where near the weight of materials. Like everything else™™s, it is not the heavy quality feel of decades old appliances you can™™t get anymore. However, it worked fine on first plug in and was well at or below Zero by 24 hours. Our old one hasn™™t completely stopped after the last fix yet, so we aren™™t actually using the new one yet after we made sure it works properly. They both are set up on a concrete floor in an enclosed patio. The new one being on wheels is a plus as we are now seniors. I like the smooth easy to wipe down white exterior too. No disappointment in the purchase so far.

I have only had the freezer for a week so my experience has been naturally limited. So far so good and if the "good" performance continues a future review by me could be "excellent". This freezer is replacing my 28 year old Montgomery I have only had the freezer one week but so far so good. Maybe after months of use I can rate it "excellent". Although it is rated 21.0 cubic feet it does seem to have less interior storage space then the 21.0 cubic foot Wards that it replaced.

I love the multiple shelves with flexibility to adjust them to my desired configuration for my personal storage needs. The shelves inside the door are better than most freezers I™™ve seen as they™™re solid with no opening at bottom for food items to fall through. My only complaint is the fact that I can™™t lock the temperature adjustment that™™s on the outside door. And there™™s not a door lock on this freezer model. Otherwise, I highly recommend as Frigidaire has always been a well made and long running appliance brand I™™ve used many times before.

I purchased this freezer through Lowe™™s after I had another freezer start to go out on me the week before I was supposed to pick up a 1/2 a cow from the processor. The new freezer has several features that I like. First the space was more than adequate to hold aforementioned 1/2 a cow, secondly unlike the freezer I replaced this unit has glass shelves that go all the way across from edge to edge where as the last unit had wire racks that barely set on a 1/2 inch lip on either side. I also liked the fact that the temperature adjustment is on the outside. The only issue I have is that when I close the door it wants to roll backwards and I did not see any thing in the limited instructions on being able to lock the caster wheels to prevent this. Overall I am pleased with the product and hope it lasts for many years to come.

Love my Frigidaire freezers. This is the second one I™™ve put in my garage and other family members have them too. Never had any problems in freezing temps or hot summers outside in the garage. All are still working perfectly. The only thing that I would change would be for this model to come with one more shelf. I had to buy an extra shelf in order to take advantage or the space inside without overloading the shelves. Easy enough fix though.
